Linking chain

I got a lot of e-mails from people asking me to help improve their website Page rank ever since I won the SEO challenge. To be honest, I am not really that good as I only have a PR of 5. The only way to improve your page rank is to have people link back to your site from their sites.

Anonymous tagged me with this interesting way to help increase you blog's PR.

**Instructions**

Write a post, and copy and paste my list from below into it. Make sure the links are active and correct. If your blog is on that list, remove it because your post isn’t about self-promotion. Don’t worry, because if your name is on mine, it’s on others and will spread. Add your favourite deserving blogs to the top of the list (not compulsory). Publish the post. People will notice the incoming links, and hopefully write their own z-list posts. The result will be that we all get more links pointing to our blogs, and more readers - got to be good!

Key Points
1) Create a new post on your blog.
2) Copy and Paste the entire list of blog links below
3) Add any blogs that you want to include near the top of the list. (Optional)
4) Include the blog where you first got the list from, on the list in your post.
5) Do not include your own blog links on the list in your post.
6) Make sure that all links are copied intact.
7) Publish the Post.

Creating awareness about sexual harassment

One of my lady friends was once telling me some stories about her old job. It seems that the guys there were very careless with their speech and used to tease the younger girls and even crack dirty jokes when the ladies were around. It was shocking when she told me that she didn't like it but she just smiled and got on with her work. Eventually she left the job to further her studies, eventually becoming a lecturer.

When I told her that the actions of her colleagues may constitute sexual harassment, she was quite surprised. She didn't realise that there is such a thing as a verbal harassment.

According to her, she was quite resigned. According to her, there was nothing she could have done. If any of you ladies are facing such a situation, I suggest you to see Sexual Harassment Lawyers who are specialised in such cases.

I guess, many victims prefer to remain silent because they are fear the bad consequences that might happen. I think it is wrong to tolerate such behaviour in the work place and leaving the job means that you are giving in.

Cooking for the family

nasi_lemakMy cooking skills are getting better by the day.

Day before yesterday, my wife and I were talking about life in Malaysia and how easy and cheap it was to eat outside. One of our favourite haunts was a place called Subang Ria in Kelana Jaya. My wife was talking about how good their Nasi Lemak was.

Well it was my turn to cook and so I announced that I was going to prepare Nasi Lemak. my wife was very skeptical but it turned out OK in the end.

I cooked all of the stuff in the picture. Dishes from top in anti clockwise manner:
1. Fried ikan bilis (anchovies)
2. Hot chili with tomatoes sambal.
3. Chicken which I had cooked earlier.
4. Boiled eggs and cucumber.
5. Half eaten nasi lemak.

The only ingredient missing were roasted peanuts.

I just added a packet of coconut cream powder, which we had brought along from Malaysia, to the rice to give it that special Nasi Lemak taste.

Indian video site

With the popularity of YouTube and other video sharing sites, I guess it was just a matter of time before special video sites targeted to specific demographic segments appeared on the net.

Aapkavideo.com is an Indian Video Sharing. The name in Hindi means "your video" and the site is specifically targeted to Indians. However, with the popularity of Hindi (Bollywood) movies growing everywhere, I am sure there will be a lot of visitors from everywhere around the World including Malaysia. I know of a few Malay friends who are addicted to Hindi movies even through they can't understand a word.

Top 50 Malaysian bloggers

Malaysian blogger Sabahan has come out with a list of the top 50 most influential bloggers in Malaysia. No! I am not in the list.

He has used Technorati to rank blogs and I am quite satisfied with his reasons.

It's not surprising that a lot of those on the list are on my own blogroll.

Anyway, learnt about this from Shaolin Tiger

Upgrading our home lighting

While buying a house or even when renovating an old one, one of the things that is often overlooked is the lighting. When we first moved into our rented house here in the UK, we were not really happy with the lighting. Fortunately, the owner allowed us to install our own light fittings (with his approval of course).

Home Lighting Fixtures are really important and they can effect the entire look and feel of a room and even of the entire house. A unique lighting scheme can make your living room more cozy and relaxing. On the other hand, the kitchen lighting have to be different to help you perform task more easily there.

Lighting should be planned to complement your lifestyle. So, make sure you choose the right home lighting plan that suits your needs as well as your pocket.

Crazy mullah

I was watching ITV news a few minutes ago when they showed an interview with Abu Izzadeen, one of Britain's leading Muslim extremist. It was really chilling. First time I heard about him was on CNN's "The War Within" one hour documentary about extremism in the UK by Christiane Amanpour.

It was really chilling when he said that Muslim soldiers in the British army should be beheaded because according to him they were apostates. Previously he had described the 7/7 bombers as "completely praiseworthy".

According to the ITV website, a video of him preaching a message of hate was found on an underground website.

The funny thing is that he living here in the UK, criticising "unbelievers" and freely spreading messages of hate. He would have been quickly put inside bars under the ISA he had done that in Malaysia.

Read more about the guy on Wikipedia.
