Read 'The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner' for free online

Looks like Stephanie Meyer's latest book in the Twilight series "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner" is going to be another best seller. She's literally milking the cow while she can.

Anyway, as a gift to her fans, you can read the story for free online till midnight EST on July 5th. Thanks Stephanie.

I told my wife but she plans to buy the novella anyway.

Buy "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner" on Amazon.com $7.54

I Support Wikipedia

I have been a loyal Wikipedia supporter since I first heard of it and have also contributed/ added/ amended several articles to this fabulous yet free online encyclopedia.

The beauty of Wikipedia is that any article can be edited by anyone. And as you can expect, there are always some people who will write junk, delete entries - just for the fun of it. This has resulted in one major criticisms of Wikipedia - that several of its articles are not accurate.

The recent controversy regarding John Seigenthaler, did further harm to its reputation and credibility. An anonymous user (which was later identified as one Brian Chase) had implied that the journalist had been involved in the Kennedy assassination. Seigenthaler wrote a scathing article criticizing the online encyclopedia on USA Today

This has led to new rules including barring unregistered users from creating new pages on the site.

I was really happy to read the results of a recent study by the journal Nature which finds that Wikipedia is as accurate as the encyclopedia Britannica and scientists regularly consulted it.

Free Online Encyclopedia

Just came to know about Wikipedia. It is a multilingual online open-content (and FREE) encyclopedia, which was started in January 2001. Anyone with an Internet connection and a browser can add and alter the content found here. As of last count there were 231966 articles in the English version. Some predict that this will be bigger than even Google and may be the best source of the latest news directly from common people all around the World. However, I admit that I couldn't find a few topics I was searching for but the great part is that you can add your own articles to it until someone else edits it. The disclaimer on the site notes that "Wikipedia CANNOT guarantee, in any way whatsoever, the validity of the information found here".

Of course there will always be some a**holes, who being the idiots they are, try to spoil the party by writing junk. I guess we have to live with them but we can go ahead and reedit it back again.

Now go ahead and add your own articles to this wonderful site.
