Interesting maths

Some might say that "Maths" and "interesting" cannot be used in the same sentence unless it is with a "not". However, I just received this really interesting forwarded email, that I just had to share it with you guys:

From a strictly mathematical viewpoint, what Equals 100%? What does it mean to give MORE than 100%?

Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100%? Well, we have all been in situations where someone wants you to GIVE OVER 100%.

What equals 100% in life?

Here's a little mathematical formula that might help answer these questions:

If:

Is represented as:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26.

So:

H-A-R-D-W-O-R- K can be translated as

8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11 = 98%


And:

K-N-O-W-L-E-D-G-E

11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5 = 96%


But:

A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E

1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = 100%


THEN, look how far the love of God will take you:


L-O-V-E-O-F-G-O-D

12+15+22+5+15+6+7+15+4 = 101%


Therefore, one can conclude with mathematical certainty that:

While Hard Work and Knowledge will get you close, and Attitude will get you there, it's the Love of God that will put you over the top!

ok I agree that LOVEOFGOD will take you more than 100% and its exactly 101% but what about LOVEOFDEVIL?? Lets see where it will take us

see it give more than LOVEOFGOD :-) So can we conclude that it will put us on the peak??

Actually I think concluding something very much important from just a stupid analysis of a word while we add the individual letters' weight in english alphabet is really unwise.

I hope you guys will get me clearly :)

eamon: You are taking the calculations too literally. "Love of food" will give a bigger number as well.

Look at the idea behind the words.

I thought it is a pure numerology.... It is all about the calculation and explanation of words. "Love of god" and "Love of devil" is related in same love with opposite part of supernatural power. God and Devil living in the same world. But Food??? How could that be linked with these two things. Well said eamon.

I came across the following question in a quiz book. I was unable to solve it. You help me out of this,
This is a ten digit number. When you remove the last digit, it is divisible by 9. When you remove the last two digits, it is divisible by 8. It goes on till you can remove the 9th digit when the number becomes divisible by 1. What's that number?
