James Cameroon challenges Christianity

Now for some highly controversial news.

James Cameroon, director of the movie "Titanic" has claimed that he has found the tomb of Jesus Christ and his family in a documentary that he says will "rock the foundation of Christianity".

Cameron and filmmaker archeologist Simcha Jacobovici sets to to prove that the Talpiot Tomb uncovered 27 years ago, once held the remains of Jesus of Nazareth and his family.

The really shocking part is where he claims that Jesus fathered a a son named Judah with Mary Magdalene.

The documentary, "The Lost Tomb of Jesus" will be on the Discovery Channel on March 4th on the Discovery Channel at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Whoa ... all hell will break loose soon! ;)

I'm a bit curious to know why he knows FOR SURE it's the Jesus of the bible. Because, if I'm not mistaken, Jesus is a pretty common name in Israel then. Hmm!

In all fairness, I have read the some excerpts from the book and also have watched the interview on the today show. James Cameron did not say specifically that he knows for sure that It is Jesus. He is representing a group of archaeologists and scholars who have deducted that it may be Jesus family based on the name clusters found in the tomb and its coincidental tie in to the names associated with him as found in the Bible. Yes Jesus or Y'shua was a common Hebrew name...However, Y'shua Bar Yosef next to a box with the name Miriam(mary) and James and Mary Magdalene's names. What are the chances of that? Makes one think.

Also, James Cameron and his colleagues have refuted making nay claims against the resurrection of Jesus. However, The findings of the bones may contradict Jesus' physical ascension into heaven. In regards to Jesus being married...so what? Does not erase his ministry? Does it erase his teachings? We Christians preach about the sanctity of marriage. Why can't our Lord have been married as well to further exemplify love and faithfulness. IS the notion that Jesus may have been married really that blasphemous. Is marriage really that shockingly sinful...or are we still unwilling to embrace Jesus'humanity with equal weight as his divinity?

Let us also remember that of the many Gospels written only one, The Gospel of Luke lays claim to the Physical Ascension of Jesus into heaven. None of the other Gospels do. They all speak of his death and resurrection... but only Luke speaks of the Ascension. However, Remember what Jesus said to Thomas on the day of His Resurrection? "Do not believe only what you see, but what you do not see" My faith is untouched by this. Let other speculate and exegize the Historical Jesus. Isn't the fact that Jesus has touched the hearts of billions and has saved us from our sins the basis of our faith? I believe He is alive as God the Father is alive. And moreover, I believe God loves me because he sent his only son to the world...to reveal to the me the truth about the divinity of my humanity. No, these archeological findings do not
shake my faith a bit. It simply peaks my curiosity.

James Cameroon wants to emulate the success of Da Vinci Code, I guess.

I think they're trying to present some onformation that they want researched to the public. they found this tomb, and it had all these names on it; its a possibility that's too great to dismiss.

Here's the official site. It's good, lots of information:

This is regarding "Jesus" ossuary.
A great Jewish historian named Flavius Josephus in the first century A.D. wrote two times about "Jesus" who was called the Christ. He was not a Christian follower. He was a neutral historian. He had the decency at least to call Jesus Christ as Jesus who was called the Christ.
So that means Jesus of Nazareth has been known as Jesus Christ at that time itself. If Christians buried Jesus Christ, they would have written Jesus Christ on the ossuary. If the Romans buried Jesus Christ, then they would have written, Jesus the King of Jews. Therefore I don't belive that the bone in the ossuary belong to Jesus Christ. It could belong to a Jewish High priest, Jesus who became High priest after the High priest, Annanias who was dismissed or some other Jesus. It could be a joke invented by some prankster.
